Facial cleansing

As you probably know, there are countless facial cleansing products available today. Everyone has their preferences…

My skin is thin, combination (mostly dry with an oilier T-zone), reactive when something doesn’t suit it, and I have a fair complexion with freckles (but I tan slightly, which isn’t typical for this skin type).

Although I used to be a fan of micellar water – simply because it was convenient and easy to use – I realized that my skin was becoming dry and sensitive precisely because of the “cleanser” I was using. Also, very few micellar waters didn’t sting my eyes when removing makeup.

Micellar water and cleansing milk tend to leave some residue on the skin, which should ideally be removed before applying other skincare products. So at the very least, it’s good to rinse your face, and ideally, follow up with a gentle cleanser (a gel or foam).

Since my face started to sting, I switched entirely to a facial cleansing foam that I use while showering. Although I was initially skeptical about the practicality and effectiveness of the product, I must admit that over time my skin calmed down, and the product removes all makeup without any residue. A big bonus is that it doesn’t sting my eyes.

During periods of severe facial dryness (usually during cold days) and when using SPF creams, I’ve turned to the double cleansing method.
